After months of teasing Americans about investigating President Donald Trump for “high crimes and misdemeanors” worthy of potentially impeaching him, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-C.A.), Rules Committee Chairman James McGovern (D-Mass.) and other top Democrats finally released a resolution that outlines the next steps Congress will take in the impeachment investigation.

After having good reason to stall an impeachment inquiry until recent weeks, Speaker. Pelosi et. Al. finally decided that enough was enough. The resolution essentially directs the House to keep investigating whether they should pursue impeachment proceedings or not.

The opening of the resolution states:

“Resolution: Directing certain committees to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the existing House of Representatives inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach Donald John Trump, President of the United States of America, and for other purposes.”

You can read the entire House Resolution for Impeachment of President Trump, but alternatively, you can view it below.

According to Speaker Pelosi, the House will vote on the resolution sometime this week – a resolution that includes delegating:

“…Various powers to ‘designate an open hearing or hearings.’”

The truly interesting about the Resolution is that it contains everything that the Republican Party wanted. If they truly vote their conscience, instead of “operating as usual” in their pandering to Pres. Trump, they may lose their seats,’ but they will have done the U.S. a great service.
