President Donald Trump kicked off his week by claiming on Twitter that he would seriously consider testifying before the House impeachment inquiry committee in order to “get Congress focused again.”
Over the weekend, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi remarked that the president had an open invitation to provide any evidence he might have that would clear him in the Ukraine scandal that precipitated a formal impeachment investigation in late September. Pelosi said on “Face the Nation”:
“If he has information that is exculpatory, that means ex, taking away, culpable, blame, then we look forward to seeing it. (He) could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants, if he wants.”
On Monday morning, Trump posted these two tweets:
Our Crazy, Do Nothing (where’s USMCA, infrastructure, lower drug pricing & much more?) Speaker of the House, Nervous Nancy Pelosi, who is petrified by her Radical Left knowing she will soon be gone (they & Fake News Media are her BOSS), suggested on Sunday’s DEFACE THE NATION….

….that I testify about the phony Impeachment Witch Hunt. She also said I could do it in writing. Even though I did nothing wrong, and don’t like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax, I like the idea & will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!

Does anyone other than the most deeply deluded Trump supporters actually believe he would dare raise his hand and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? When you consider that this president lies almost as often as he breathes, does he even know what truth is anymore?
Social media pelted Trump with well-earned scorn and laughter:
Oh REALLY?!?
You’ll “consider it,” the same way you considered showing your tax return?
Your lying, chickenshit ass will NEVER testify. It would be the END. You can’t control your impulse for lying, so you’d perjure yourself.
Proceed, Spanky.

Wonderful! While you are on a transparency kick:
– release your taxes
– release the Ukraine phone call transcripts (not memos)
– allow your White House employees to testify in the hearings
– tell us what you were really doing at Walter Reed
– strongly consider this ?— Liddle’ Savage (@littledeekay) November 18, 2019
Bill Clinton testified to a grand jury during his impeachment. Why won’t you? If you didn’t do anything wrong, why would you not want to clear your name under oath? Don’t worry, a subpoena will be sent your way, I’m sure. & SCOTUS already made a ruling on that- you hv to comply.

You sound scared.
If you did nothing wrong then testify. Allow Mulvaney, Pompeo and Bolton to testify.

You lack the testicular fortitude to follow through on this. I’m guessing we’ll get a, “I want to testify, but my lawyers won’t let me,” type of excuse before too long.

Funny that Hillary was willing and able to testify for 11 hours, but President Self-Incriminating Whiny Baby is terrified to do it for even an hour

ABC/Ipsos poll:
70% of Americans believe Trump did something wrong
57% want him impeached
51% want him impeached *and* removed from office
21% made that decision this after last weeks hearings
Those are some terrible numbers for Trump after just one week of public hearings.
