It’s not an exaggeration to suggest that Donald Trump is the most intellectually incurious and least well-read president of the past 100 years. Some might even say he’s the densest person to ever be elected head of state in this country.
If you need proof of that hypothesis, look no further than a tweet Trump sent out Friday afternoon in which he made it painfully clear he’s never read the Constitution or cracked the cover of a dictionary.
Still angry over the fact that he’s been impeached, the president posted this:
Nancy Pelosi is looking for a Quid Pro Quo with the Senate. Why aren’t we Impeaching her?

Uh…Donald…dude, there’s so much stupid here that it’s enough to cause whiplash from shaking one’s head in disgusted response.
First of all, a quid pro quo means that an item or service has been traded in exchange for something of value. Or, to quote Grammarly:
Quid pro quo is a Latin phrase that literally means “something for something,” or “this for that.” We use the phrase to signify an exchange of goods, services, favors, or any other kind of value.
Secondly, you cannot impeach a member of Congress. There is no process laid out in the Constitution for impeaching a member of the House or Senate. So to suggest impeachment is the height of absurdity.
Twitter users were amused by Trump’s poorly informed attack on the Speaker of the House:
I think this is a serious question from you because, even at your maximum intelligence level of self-proclaimed “stable genius”, you still don’t understand how government works at a basic level.

Because the senate is not a foreign power. And she is asking if n behalf of the nation rather than her personally. I can’t believe we are the ones that have to explain this to you. It’s like playing poker with my brother in laws kids.

It’s probably because she didn’t bribe a foreign government to investigate her political rivals, but thanks for the false equivalency.

Now, if only we could impeach Trump for being utterly clueless.
