Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) got more than he bargained for when he tried to shame a legislator from his home state for daring to hold a meeting with MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton, who is a well-known progressive Democrat.

Rep. Chris Latvala posted a photo of himself with Sharpton on Twitter, along with a message that it had been an “honor” to with him:

Gaetz responded with this:

Wow! That’s a lot of faux outrage for a man who consistently defends a president who has called Mexicans rapists and drug dealers, bragged about how he enjoys sexually assaulting women, and regularly fires off tweets attacking anyone who dares to disagree with him.

That was all Latvala needed to remind Gaetz about a disgusting game he allegedly ran when he was serving in the Florida legislature:

That led Gaetz to respond:

That’s when Latvala went nuclear on Gaetz, bringing up the matter of his arrest for DUI in 2008:

Desperately trying to change the subject, Gaetz again turned to Latvala’s meeting with Sharpton:

Yet again, however, Latvala was equal to Gaetz and his childish taunts, completely owning him with this:

Much like his political savior, President Donald Trump, Matt Gaetz thinks he’s a skilled social media warrior. The facts, however, suggest otherwise.
