Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who has won only two delegates and had a dismal showing on Super Tuesday, says that the two other remaining Democratic presidential candidates, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), should urge the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to let her appear at the next debate on March 15, which will be held in Phoenix.
Gabbard made her appeal on Twitter:
.@JoeBiden @BernieSanders I’m sure you would agree that our Democratic nominee should be a person who will stand up for what is right. So I ask that you have the courage to do that now in the face of the DNC’s effort to keep me from participating in the debates. #LetTulsiDebate

To keep me off the stage, the DNC again arbitrarily changed the debate qualifications. Previously they changed the qualifications in the OPPOSITE direction so Bloomberg could debate. I ask that you stand w/ me against the DNC’s transparent effort to exclude me from the debates.

The Hill notes that the DNC did indeed change the qualifications for the Phoenix debate:
“The direct call to Biden and Sanders, the two heavyweights remaining in the 2020 primary race, comes after the DNC said candidates must have garnered at least 20 percent of the delegates awarded thus far.”
Gabbard’s Twitter posting was met with harsh criticism on social media:
Tulsi…take responsibility. You’re off the stage because you’re not viable & no one wanted to vote for you.
You also blew it long ago with your #AssadSpeak

We don’t want you. After all the primaries this should be clear. Your intentions are nefarious. With no chance of winning who is financing you?
Diverting a measly % of votes will not affect the outcome. Your patriotism is in question.— Viuda Alegre (@ViudaAlegre13) March 7, 2020
Go away.
You are not actually running for president. You are running for a Fox News job or something similar.
What would be the correct threshold for % of delegates?
20%?
10%?
5%?
1%?
You have 0.015% of delegates.
Voters have spoken. They have said: go away Tulsi.

You aren’t getting support, haven’t had it since the beginning of your campaign. You’re not considered a viable candidate AND you’re widely distrusted & disliked so WE wonder why YOU aren’t doing the right thing? We remember your “present” vote on both Articles of Impeachment

You have no path to victory, we absolutely will not elect another Russian asset! Speaking of doing the right thing, drop out now!

Um no, it wasn’t arbitrary. You have 2 delegates yet you won’t take a hint. America doesn’t want you as president. Period.
