Secretary of Mike Pompeo kicked a hornet’s nest on Friday when he mocked Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and her mission to inspire little girls to become involved in public service.
Warren has been campaigning across the country throughout the primary contest, only to drop out after it became clear that former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) are the front-runners for the Democratic nomination. But one of her goals during the campaign was to be a role model for little girls. Warren would tell them that they can run for president and had them pinky-swear that they would remember what she told them.

But Pompeo, rather than praise Warren for being an inspiration and encouraging kids to be more civically involved, chose to mock and insult Warren by posting a photo of himself making a pinky-swear promise with his son.
My son PINKY PROMISED me he’d pay for dinner tonight. We’ll see! pic.twitter.com/ne5hFR310Q

It didn’t take long for Twitter users to bash Pompeo for being a complete a**hole.
It’s amazing how proud you are to be such an unmitigated asshole.

You’re ridiculing little girls making promises to Elizabeth Warren that they’ll run for president. Perhaps it is good, in a way, for them, and their parents who vote, to see what and who is already opposing them.

Can you point out on a map where you’re located? If you need help, we’ll get Mary Louise Kelly right over there.

My God what is this relentless desire that every member of this administration has to prove they are complete irredeemable douchebags?

Listen up, rapture boy. You wouldn’t know this because your party wins with fearmongering, but inspiring young people to become civically involved and hopeful about democracy’s future is a beautiful thing.

Why are you such a dick?

Just an absolute garbage human

Wow, what a disturbing and inflammatory display of misogyny.

I pinky promise you’re going to be out of a job next year and just be a stupid, fat, douchey bad memory nobody who helped perpetuate the worst Administration in history.

Warren is a role model for little girls everywhere. She ran for president alongside other powerful women such as Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and had a fair shot at becoming the nominee. She presented great ideas and stood up to those who tried to bully her. It’s more than Secretary Pompeo has ever done in his miserable pathetic existence.
