President Donald Trump’s botched response to the coronavirus is only getting worse as the outbreak continues to spread, but what’s even more outrageous is that he prevented the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) from delivering a warning to seniors that could have helped them avoid contracting it.

There are now over 400 cases of coronavirus in the United States and 20 people have died, resulting in a mortality rate that is higher than other parts of the world because Trump did not respond properly to the virus and even claimed it to be a “hoax” perpetrated by Democrats while called warning from the World Health Organization “fake news”. Trump also moved to silence health officials so he could continue misleading the public about the virus.

And now a new report reveals damning new information that will enrage the public, especially seniors who are most at risk of contracting and dying from the virus.

According to the Associated Press:

The White House overruled health officials who wanted to recommend that elderly and physically fragile Americans be advised not to fly on commercial airlines because of the new coronavirus, a federal official told The Associated Press. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention submitted the plan this week as a way of trying to control the virus, but White House officials ordered the air travel recommendation be removed, said the official who had direct knowledge of the plan.

So, Trump once again failed to let health officials act to prevent the spread of the virus, all because he is desperate for everyone to believe he has contained the virus and for the stock market to stop tanking.

Trump could not even bring himself to let health officials deliver the warning to seniors properly after it became clear that he f*cked up again, only allowing the CDC to quietly post the warning on its website.

On Friday, the CDC quietly updated its website to tell older adults and people with severe medical conditions such as heart, lung or kidney disease to ‘stay home as much as possible’ and avoid crowds. It urges those people to ‘take actions to reduce your risk of exposure,’ but it doesn’t specifically address flying. Some experts this week said clearer and louder guidance should be made to vulnerable people, so they take every possible step to avoid settings where they might more easily become infected.

Time and time again, Trump has failed to respond properly to this virus for his personal and political gain, placing millions of lives at risk in the process. As the pandemic grows and more and more people lose their lives, there’s only one public official to blame for this recklessness, and that is Trump himself. He should be impeached for this, but because Senate Republicans are his accomplices, the only way to oust him and them is to vote in November.
