According to Fox Business host Trish Regan, critics of President Donald Trump’s tepid response to the coronavirus epidemic are engaged in “yet another attempt to impeach” the president.
Monday on her show, Regan declared that Democrats are to blame for the administration’s halfhearted measures to protect the American public:
“We reached a tipping point. The chorus of hate being leveled at the president is nearing a crescendo as the Democrats blame him and only him for a virus that originated halfway around the world.”
The falling stock market is also not Trump’s fault, Regan continued:
“And sadly it seems they care very little for the destruction they are leaving in their wake. Losses in the stock market, all this, unfortunately, part of the political casualties for them. This is the time to be united… Not to be encouraging hate.
“We see the absolute opposite from the left tonight… The hate is boiling over. Many in the liberal media using coronavirus in an attempt to demonize and destroy the president.”
So if you dare to criticize your government or the president, you’re engaging in hate? Too bad Fox didn’t feel that way when they relentlessly attacked former President Barack Obama when he so much as dared to wear a tan suit to a press conference.
Regan concluded her remarks by suggesting that any criticism of Trump is impeachment all over again, conveniently neglecting to note that there was copious evidence suggesting that the current president did indeed commit impeachable offense with his Ukraine bribery scandal:
“I see. This is impeachment all over again… They don’t care who they hurt. Whether it be their need to create mass hysteria to encourage a market sell-off, unlike anything we have seen recently or to be to create mass hysteria to stop our economy dead in its tracks.”
There’s an old saying that applies to both Fox and Donald Trump: If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
