In his Oval Office address Wednesday evening, President Donald Trump urged “unity” and said the coronavirus pandemic required that we all “put politics aside” in an effort to face the threat caused by the virus, remarking:

“We are all in this together. We must put politics aside, stop the partisanship, and unify together as one nation and one family.”

And yet, despite that admonition, the president was up bright and early Thursday morning, watching Fox News and launching a Twitter attack on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA):

What exactly does that do to unify the country? If that’s “putting politics aside,” it sure sounds like a personal attack on Speaker Pelosi.

It didn’t take long for social media to remind Trump that he’d just violated his own pledge to unify the nation in the battle against a deadly pandemic:

The United States is threatened by a pandemic that grows worse by the day, and our leader is acting like a 5-year-old.
