Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is pleading with federal judges to retire so he can quickly jam through conservative nominees to replace them because he fears Republicans will lose the White House and maybe even the Senate in November.

McConnell has been using Trump to stack the courts with conservative extremists ever since he refused to confirm former President Barack Obama’s pick of Merrick Garland to serve on the Supreme Court. He’s pushed through two conservative Justices to the bench since then and hundreds more to lower courts. And it’s all in an effort to keep ideological control of the judicial branch and force the conservative agenda on the nation, the Constitution be damned.

But Trump’s response to the coronavirus and Republican refusal to stand up to him is putting both the White House and the Senate up for grabs in November as Americans become increasingly angry because of the pandemic, the economic fallout of Trump’s policies and the rigging of the impeachment trial.

And so, McConnell is desperate to replace more judges so Democrats won’t have the opportunity to do unto them what Republicans did to Democrats, which is why he is making phone calls to beg them to retire.

According to the Courier-Journal, “Moscow” Mitch “is quietly making phone calls to senior federal judges and urging them to step aside ahead of the 2020 election.”

“A source familiar with the Kentucky leader’s thinking described Monday how McConnell is personally reaching out to judges appointed by past Republican presidents,” the paper continued.

“Yes, he has made calls,” said a longtime McConnell confidant who asked for anonymity in order to speak freely,” the Journal wrote. “McConnell is making the requests because he wants time to replace the judges with new conservative-minded jurists, the source indicated.”

After hijacking the courts for the last several years, McConnell is making one last push to forever destroy justice and the independence of our judicial system. It’s a sinister plot that will only continue if he is not ousted from office later this year and replaced by his top opponent, Amy McGrath, a retired Marine.

Make no mistake, the presidency is the most important race in 2020 that Democrats must win. But McConnell’s seat is a very close second because if he remains in office he will continue to obstruct and cause damage that will take years, if not decades, to fix.
