According to Donald Trump Jr., it’s “great news” that the United States only has 45,000 deaths and counting as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Wednesday morning, Junior tweeted that the U.S. “has one of the lowest coronavirus mortality rates in the world,” citing Dr. Deborah Birx, a member of the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force, proving that he’s just as tone-deaf as his father:

There are 819,000 cases of COVID-19 in this country, with 45,356 (and counting) dead, but we’re supposed to have a ticker-tape parade down Fifth Avenue in New York and pat ourselves on the back? It’d be nice to say Don Jr. is just kidding, but he truly believes that this administration has accomplished something.

Withing minutes of Junior’s posting, others on social media reminded him how utterly clueless he is:

There is, however, something even more terrifying to consider than this abysmal tweet from Don Jr.: His daddy will probably insist that we have a Tribute to Trump parade on July 4 and infect even more Americans.
