The gang over at Fox News is all butthurt today because former President Barack Obama dared to make a passing reference to the inept response by the Trump administration to the coronavirus pandemic, and they’re even trying to say that Obama isn’t “articulate” when he speaks, despite the fact that he is widely seen as one of the best public speakers of his generation.

In his remarks to the 2020 graduating class Saturday evening, Obama remarked:

“This pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing. A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”

Not once did the former president mention Trump’s name, but that didn’t matter to the whiny panel assembled on Fox Sunday morning, with Jedidiah Bila commenting:

“The more I listen to it the weirder it gets. When you first listen to it, you almost forget that it’s a commencement speech. You say, oh, this is President Obama, you know, giving some sort of political speech, you know, trying to say that the Trump administration is divisive.”

Bila continued, and the more she spoke, the more ridiculous and petty she sounded:

“But when you think about it. It’s supposed to be motivational, positive, it’s supposed to be about the graduates. This was not the time for what he’s doing. This was not the time to say, oh, this leadership isn’t doing a great job or adults don’t always know what they’re doing.”

Safe to say that if Trump had given the same speech and attacked his predecessor in office, Bila and her Fox colleagues would have been dancing in the streets and praising the Donald to the high heavens.

Co-host Pete Hegseth then joined the fray, and he made even less sense than Bila:

“Time and time again, he talks like a political leftist. These Democrat governors feel like we’re in charge, we’re the experts and Donald Trump’s got it all wrong. It’s amazing.”

“And by the way, Barack Obama’s not all that articulate. When he reads off a teleprompter, he can be inspiring or off of a speech. But when he’s impromptu, the ums and the ahs, it’s impossible to listen to.”

Yeah, as if anyone could possibly be as articulate as Donald Trump, who cannot manage to pronounce the simplest of words (remember him saying “oranges” instead of origins?) and often sounds like his teeth are falling out of his mouth. Oh, and then there’s Trump’s endless sniffing and inability to express himself without saying “tremendous” or “great.”

The green monster of jealousy is alive and well over at Fox. Maybe if they weren’t so insecure about the failings of their political savior they’d be able to see the truth. Then again, truth has never flourished at Fox.
