At a rambling and at times incoherent press conference Friday morning called by President Donald Trump so he could pat himself on the back for news that the U.S. unemployment rate decreased to 13.3 percent, Trump said that the news meant it was a “great day” for George Floyd, the Minneapolis man who was killed by four overzealous police officers:

“George is looking down right now and saying ‘this is a great thing happening for our country. It’s great day for him, a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality. It’s really what our constitution requires and what our country is about.”
