On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), held a hearing on the Russia investigation during which Graham went on an extended rant in which he excoriated former Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the prosecution of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, suggesting that nobody else in Congress seems to be as upset by the entire thing as he is, remarking:
“You made it abundantly clear, you don’t agree with what I’m doing, you think I’m in Trump’s pocket, I get it. That’s not lost on me, what you think. And I’m upset, because I like you all. But you expect me to punt? Forget it.”
Many have suggested that Graham is indeed in Trump’s pocket — for whatever reason — but the senator’s Democratic opponent in the upcoming election, Jaime Harrison, had the best response to Graham, and he leveled it via Twitter:
