President Donald Trump decided Tuesday morning that he’d disseminate a bogus conspiracy theory that the 75-year-old man who was shoved to the ground by police in Buffalo, New York, last week was working for “Antifa.”

Martin Gugino was violently pushed to the ground and wound up hospitalized when a member of the Buffalo police pushed him violently, resulting in Gugino falling to the concrete and leaving him bleeding from a head wound:

Two of the officers seen in the video — Aaron Torgalski and Robert McCabe — have been charged with assault, and Gugino remains hospitalized.

However, despite the obvious visual evidence, Trump decided he’d smear Gugino by promoting a story he saw on far-right “news” network One America News (OANN):

Do Trump or OANN have a shred of evidence to suggest Gugino was working for Antifa? If so, neither have bothered to share it with the public.

It didn’t take long for social media to react with horror and anger over Trump’s attempt to slag a Gugino:
