President Donald Trump insisted that scientists will develop a coronavirus vaccine because they developed one for AIDS, which really doesn’t inspire confidence since there is NOT an AIDS vaccine.

AIDS has been around for decades and has killed over 32 million around the globe since the epidemic began.

So far, coronavirus has managed to only kill over 117,000 Americans, but second waves of the virus are popping up across the country all as Trump continues to promise that a vaccine is close to being produced.

On Tuesday, Trump claimed that Americans should be confident in our scientists because they also developed an AIDS vaccine.

“They’ve come up with things. They’ve come up with many other cures and therapeutics over the years. These are the people, the best, the smartest, the most brilliant anywhere. They’ve come up with the AIDS vaccine,” Trump said. “Or the AIDS, and the as you know there’s various things, and now various companies are involved and the therapeutic for AIDS. AIDS was a death sentence and now people live a life with a pill.”

The problem is that there actually isn’t a vaccine for AIDS. That’s a lie, and a bad one since it seems to suggest that scientists are not near as close to developing a coronavirus vaccine as Trump claims.

But even if one isn’t developed, Trump insisted that the virus would go away despite the fact that most scientists agree that this virus is going to linger among us for quite some time and will keep killing, especially since there is now a mutated strain.

“I always say, even without it, it goes away,” Trump said. “But if we had the vaccine ― and we will ― if we had therapeutic or cure, one thing sort of blends into the other. It will be a fantastic day and I think that’s going to happen. And it’s going to happen very soon.”

As many states have discovered, reopening early to appease Trump has been a terrible idea as the number of coronavirus cases has exploded. And the death toll will soon follow.

It turns out that the vaccine many Americans believe they really need right now is one to get rid of Trump.
