President Donald Trump demanded that the Supreme Court kill Obamacare on Saturday even though the nation is in the middle of a pandemic that has killed nearly 130,000 Americans and has infected over 2.5 million.

Millions of Americans rely on Obamacare, officially known as the Affordable Care Act, for their health insurance coverage. The law also protects people with pre-existing conditions from being denied coverage, which is particularly crucial right now considering people with underlying conditions are more at risk of contracting coronavirus.

Despite the pandemic, however, Trump took to Twitter to call upon the Supreme Court to destroy Obamacare and claimed that he will somehow replace it with something more affordable.

The reason why Obamacare costs have risen in recent years is because Trump has spent a lot of his time weakening it and corrupting it. He also helped Republicans kill the individual mandate that required all Americans to buy into it. Now that Americans don’t have to do so, the prices are going up to cover the losses.

Furthermore, it should be pointed out that millions of conservatives in red states would also lose their health insurance if Obamacare is struck down.

A majority of Americans support Obamacare, which has only become more popular over the years.

The only hope left for Americans to keep their healthcare is if Chief Justice John Roberts votes to save Obamacare, which he did when he previously ruled the law constitutional several years ago the last time Republicans tried to kill it through the courts.

Trump recently complained about the Supreme Court not ruling his way. Let’s hope the high court gives him another ruling to whine about or this pandemic is about to get a whole lot worse.
