President Donald Trump could have made a statement on the death of Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) on Friday night. He could have done it on Saturday morning. Instead, he spent his time golfing and ranting before finally releasing two short pathetic sentences.
And he didn’t even bother to make sure it was grammatically correct.
Saddened to hear the news of civil rights hero John Lewis passing. Melania and I send our prayers to he and his family.

Thankfully, America had a statement from a real president to rely on because Barack Obama paid tribute to Lewis. But social media did not take kindly to Trump’s tardy and clearly rushed message.
keep John Lewis’s name out of your mouth

John Lewis fought for the children who you tear from their parents at the border. He fought for people like George Floyd. He fought against the injustice that you and your administration has caused.

You’re literally golfing right now, dipshit. We all know you didn’t write this.

John Lewis will forever be remembered as an American hero.
Donald Trump will forever be remembered as an American disgrace.

You were up late last night, tweeting about GARBAGE long after the world learned of the passing of Rep. John Lewis.
Then you went and played golf today instead of saying anything.
NOW say “Black Lives Matter,” because HIS certainly did.

No you’re not. You played golf all fucking day before saying one word about #JohnLewis. You’re not sad at all. Just begrudgingly obligated… #Trump

Are you sad he passed away because you won’t be able to be racist to him anymore? Is that what makes you so saddened? One less Black person on the planet for you to be mean to?https://t.co/79qyrWHEVz

Trump is a racist, so it’s obvious why he couldn’t be bothered to prepare a fitting statement about Lewis, who is a civil rights hero and longtime public servant. The fact that Trump failed to issue such a statement is an insult to Lewis’ family and people of color across the country.
