House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) informed President Donald Trump on Monday that he’s going to leave office if he is defeated by former Vice President Joe Biden on Election Day once next January rolls around.

During a disastrous Fox News interview with Chris Wallace on Sunday, Trump refused to answer whether he would concede the election to Biden and leave office if he loses.

“I have to see. Look, you — I have to see,” Trump said. “No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no.”

Trump has been laying the groundwork to declare the election rigged by falsely claiming that voting by mail is rife with fraud.

Legal experts have also warned for years that Trump may violate the norm of a peaceful transition of power by refusing to leave office. He may even attempt some dirty tricks to stay in power even if Biden wins by a landslide.

The idea that Trump could violate the very foundation of democracy and constitutional law is deeply disturbing. But Pelosi is having none of it.

“There is a process,” Pelosi said during an interview on MSNBC. “It has nothing to do with a certain occupant of the White House doesn’t feel like moving and has to be fumigated out of there.”

If Biden wins, Pelosi continued, an inauguration ceremony will be held and that means Trump will no longer have the authority to be president and can literally be dragged out of there.

“Whether he knows it yet, or not, he will be leaving,” Pelosi said. “Just because he might not want to move out of the White House doesn’t mean we won’t have an inauguration ceremony to inaugurate a duly elected president of the United States.”

One way or another, Trump has to leave if Biden wins. He can cry and kick and scream all he wants, the military has sworn an oath to follow the orders of the legal president, which would be Biden as soon as he is sworn in. The Secret Service would also abandon Trump and the nuclear codes would be changed. Of course, the question is how many of these people are willing to try to help Trump stay in power? Because if Trump won’t leave and tries to stay by force, the next transition of power could be a bloody one for the first time in our nation’s history.
