Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — who is often referred to as AOC — went to the floor of the House of Representatives on Thursday and verbally eviscerated her Republican colleague, Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), who called her a “fucking bitch” earlier in the week.

When he was busted for what he said, Yoho insisted he had not meant his comments to be aimed at anyone specifically, commenting:

“The offensive name-calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleagues, and if they were construed that way, I apologize for their misunderstanding.

“It is true that we disagree on policies and visions for America, but that does not mean we should be disrespectful. Having been married for 45 years with two daughters, I’m very cognizant of the language I use.”

It was that fake apology that Ocasio-Cortez used when she responded to Yoho in the House, HuffPost reports:

“What I do have an issue with is using women, our wives, our daughters as shields and excuses for poor behavior. Mr. Yoho mentioned that he has a wife and two daughters. I am two years younger than Mr. Yoho’s youngest daughter. I am someone’s daughter, too.

“My father, thankfully, is not alive to see how Mr. Yoho treated his daughter. My mother got to see Mr. Yoho’s disrespect on the floor of this House towards me on television. And I am here because I have to show my parents that I am their daughter and that they did not raise me to accept abuse from men.”

But AOC was far from finished destroying Yoho, adding:

“What Mr. Yoho did was give permission for men to use that language against his daughters. Having a daughter does not make a man decent. Having a wife does not make a decent man. Treating people with dignity and respect makes a decent man.”

The New York Democrat, who once worked as a bartender, ended her comments with this:

“This kind of language is not new. I have tossed men out of bars that have used language like Mr. Yoho’s.

“This is not new, and that is the problem.”

There is absolutely no reason for a man to ever refer to a woman as a “bitch” or any other similar derogatory term. Ted Yoho needs to either offer a genuine apology or admit that he’s a horse’s ass who thinks demeaning women is acceptable.
