Rep, Louie Gohmert (R-TX) just found out that karma does indeed exist because the virulent anti-protective mask advocate has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Politico:

“Gohmert was scheduled to fly to Texas on Wednesday morning with President Donald Trump and tested positive in a pre-screen at the White House. The eighth-term Republican told CNN last month that he was not wearing a mask because he was being tested regularly for the coronavirus.”

In June, Gohmert told CNN that he didn’t expect he would contract the deadly virus, which has already killed over 150,000 Americans, noting:

“I don’t have the coronavirus, turns out as of yesterday I’ve never had it. But if I get it, you’ll never see me without a mask.”

Gohmert was also at yesterday’s hearing of the House Judiciary Committee, which featured testimony from Attorney General William Barr. At one point, the committee chairman, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) warned Republicans on the committee about not wearing masks, remarking:

“I would remind Mr. Jordan, Mr. Biggs and Mr. Johnson to stop violating the rules of the committee. To stop violating the safety of the members of the committee. To stop holding themselves out as not caring by refusing to wear their masks.”

The state of Texas has a dramatic spike in COVID-19 cases since it became one of the first states to reopen following the national shutdown that was recommended by the Trump administration when the virus was first located in the United States. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) a staunch ally of President Donald Trump has even resorted to a mandate for protective masks in the state, causing some right-wingers in the Lone Star state to suggest that the governor is overstepping his bounds.

Even Trump, who was reluctant to wear a mask, has said in recent weeks it would be a good idea if every American wore a protective face covering when in public.
