Former President Barack Obama spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night, so President Donald Trump launched a pre-emptive strike meant to distract from his predecessor’s presentation. It ended up blowing up in his face.
Obama’s remarks absolutely skewered Trump for his lack of leadership and inability to do the job.
“I have sat in the Oval Office with both of the men who are running for president,” Obama said. “I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies. I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously; that he might come to feel the weight of the office and discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed in his care.”
“But he never did,” Obama continued. “He’s shown no interest in putting in the work; no interest in finding common ground; no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends; no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves.”
“Donald Trump hasn’t grown into the job because he can’t,” Obama said. “And the consequences of that failure are severe. 170,000 Americans dead. Millions of jobs gone. Our worst impulses unleashed, our proud reputation around the world badly diminished, and our democratic institutions threatened like never before.”
It’s a damning evaluation of Trump’s presidency.
Trump pre-emptively responded to Obama’s remarks during his press briefing, but fell flat on his face before retreating in disgrace.
“I see the horror that he’s left us — the stupidity of the transactions he made,” Trump said as if talking about himself. “How bad he was…so ineffective…so terrible.”

As desperate as Trump is to paint Obama as a bad president, it’s simply not true. And Twitter users made that clear.
The horror of Obama? Good grief. And Obama had a slow recovery? From what? The biggest mess since the great depression, compliments of the Republicans.

Better economic growth; lower unemployment; no pandemic; smaller deficits; and international respect?
I’ll take it.

Look at the horror Trump is set to leave when he loses to Biden in November.. Obama left a booming economy and the deficit improving–and Trump ending up destroying it, and causing unrest!

Trump is now rambling on about how he had to run because Obama did such a bad job and how much he liked his old life and how much this is all Obama’s fault and then he realizes he is deep in the crazy and says thank you and shambles off

“I see the horror that he’s left us, the stupidity…” `Horror and stupidity’? Isn’t that his theme song? “We have our great border wall.” We do? And it’s great? And he wants us to believe Obama was not GREAT? As thousands die? Do people still believe this shit? https://t.co/o79KlJX9dU

The “horror” he left was a renewed economy, by bailing out the Big 3 auto makers, and the banks after the mortgage disaster. You know Donald, the economy that Obama saved, and you are taking credit for.

Trump will never be as beloved as Obama and he can’t stand it — and it shows.
