There’s finally something positive that has happened in 2020 as Kellyanne Conway has announced that she is stepping down from the Trump administration at the end of the month citing family issues.

Conway has infamously lied in defense of President Donald Trump over the last four years and annoying Americans in the process with her “alternative facts.”

Her undying support of Trump resulted in a fracture within her own family as her husband became a staunch Trump critic, even co-founding The Lincoln Project, which has produced several hard-hitting ads that have had an impact during this election season.

Conway’s 15-year-old daughter recently made her debut on social media, where she made waves by shining a light on the state of her home life and her outright disgust over her mom’s support of Trump.

Claudia Conway has filed for emancipation and claims that she has suffered trauma and abuse at home.

The family crises are apparently what drove Kellyanne’s decision to step down.

“I will be transitioning from the White House at the end of this month. George is also making changes,” Kellyanne said in a statement.

Indeed, George Conway announced that he is stepping away from The Lincoln Project.

Kellyanne continued by citing her kids as the main reason for her departure.

“We disagree about plenty, but we are united on what matters most: the kids,” she said. “Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year in the middle school and high school that will be conducted remotely from home for a least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids ‘doing school from home’ requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times. This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Frankly, Kellyanne Conway will not be missed. She put Trump before her own family and has paid a heavy personal price for it. Once you’ve lost the respect of your children you have nothing.

And Kellyanne may want to prepare herself for the potential legal consequences she may face if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden wins in November. After all, there are several documented examples of Kellyanne violating the Hatch Act. Helping Trump cover up his many crimes could also land her in hot water.

Her decision to step down should not mean she’s off the hook. She needs to be held accountable.

But for now, at least Americans have something to be happy about in 2020.
