According to a new book written by a former close friend and aide to First Lady Melania Trump, the president’s current wife often spoke harshly of her husband and his adult children. And she reportedly has audio tapes that prove her allegations.

The book, written by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, is entitled Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with The First Lady, and reporter Yashar Ali is noting online that it could open up a giant can of worms for the president when it’s released on September 1:

“It’s unclear what exactly Wolkoff is alleging that the First Lady said about the president and his adult children but two sources familiar with the contents of her book confirmed that she reveals the details in her book including harsh comments about Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter and senior advisor. It’s also unclear if Wolkoff reveals in the book that she was taping her conversations with the First Lady but I’m told by sources that the comments published in the book are based on audiotapes.”

Wolkoff was friends with Melania Trump for more than a decade until stories began to circulate of questionable spending by the Trump 2016 inaugural committee, which led to an investigation by federal prosecutors in New York:

“(Wolkoff) says in the book that she was a scapegoat for the controversy (and the subsequent federal investigation) surrounding the Inaugural Committee’s spending.”

A description of the book released by Wolkoff’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, makes it clear that the former friend of the first lady does indeed have dirt to dish on the Trumps:

“In this candid and emotional memoir, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff takes you into Trump Tower and the White House to tell the funny, thrilling, and heartbreaking story of her intimate friendship with one of the most famous women in the world, a woman few people truly understand.

“How did Melania react to the Access Hollywood tape and her husband’s affair with Stormy Daniels? Does she get along well with Ivanka? Why did she wear that jacket with “I really don’t care, do u?” printed on the back? Is Melania happy being First Lady? And what really happened with the inauguration’s funding of $107 million? Wolkoff has some ideas…”

Melania is expected to speak at this week’s Republican National Convention, and it’ll be interesting to see what she says in light of the allegations that she has spoken so critically of the president and his family. Of course, Trump himself will probably go on Twitter before the end of the day to scream “fake news!” instead of admitting that his own wife despises him.
