Jimmy Kimmel took President Donald Trump to task on Friday night for not taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously a day after Trump announced he tested positive for the virus and has now been hospitalized.

Much to the glee of those who believe in karma, Trump tested positive for the virus on Thursday night after having repeatedly downplayed the pandemic and turning the wearing of masks into a culture war.

Trump has also been demanding that the Supreme Court strike down Obamacare, which could happen if Amy Coney Barrett joins the bench. That was not lost on Kimmel, who pointed out that Trump’s age and weight are pre-existing conditions, which means he would not be insured without Obamacare if he were an ordinary American with a limited income.

“He’s high-risk because of his age and his weight. Fortunately, he does have Obamacare, so he’s covered with those pre-existing conditions,” Kimmel quipped.

The comedian also took a shot at Trump for mocking former Vice President Joe Biden’s use of a mask.

You can’t look past the fact that over and over again, Trump has made fun of Joe Biden for wearing a mask,” he said.

Indeed, one of the first things Trump did during the debate was attack Biden for wearing a mask and practicing safe social distancing. Biden has since tested negative for the virus.

“Ha, ha, and ha. Here’s the thing: masks protect us from the coronavirus,” Kimmel continued. “They protect us from getting it, and spreading it. That’s a fact. If everyone wore a mask, we might not have any of this anymore. We would definitely have less of this.”

In fact, if every American had been directed to wear masks and stay at home from the beginning, 200,000 Americans would not be dead right now. And the death toll is only growing because of Trump’s recklessness and incompetence.

Kimmel then mocked the White House because many more officials and staffers have tested positive for coronavirus in connection with an event held there last weekend, including First Lady Melania Trump, Kellyanne Conway, and Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).

“But this president doesn’t think they look good, and so now he has the virus, his wife has it, and every staffer who may have come into contact with the president is at risk. Basically, right now the White House is like a summer camp with lice,” Kimmel concluded.
