Donald Trump ordered his top aides to stop negotiating with Democrats and instead is now promising to pass a relief package after the election. Some might see this as a “quid pro quo” on the American people.

Yes, some could easily see this as that — or bribery — or blackmail.

What Trump is essentially saying is that if America votes for him — they will get their money.

What he is officially saying is that it is all Nancy Pelosi’s fault. That she won’t negotiate in “good faith.”

“I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business,” Trump announced in a tweet.

Pelosi’s House of Representatives has produced a bill and moved on their positions to try to bring relief o the American people.  Mitch McConnell refuses to give that bill an up or down vote.

Trump claims she is trying to get “bailouts” for “poorly run Democratic states.” The poorest states, however, are run predominantly by GOP dominated legislatures. Furthermore, the new and updated “Heroes Act” passed by Pelosi’s House hardly looks like what Trump describes. Their package includes relief for families, the unemployed, education, child care, and small businesses. They even came down on some things to try to meet the GOP, but have been unsuccessful in getting them to budge, to the detriment of the American people, some might say.

Trump claims he is the real hero, and will provide — but only if re-elected. One doesn’t know if the GOP will turn its head away from this attempt to lure Americans into voting for him in a “carrot and stick” fashion that one would lead a packhorse down a trail, but to millions of Americans, this just looks like another Trump attempt to bribe and extort his way out of things.

On November 3rd, Americans will have an answer for Trump on whether that is a good deal, or to go with Joe Biden, who has a history of working across the aisle and getting things done.
