On Monday, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani — who now works as a personal attorney and campaign shill for President Donald Trump — was in Philadelphia to drum up support for the fading presidential reelection effort when he let loose with what may well one of the biggest lies uttered since the 2020 race for the White House began earlier this year.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Giuliani bounced from one topic to another:

“Giuliani spoke off the cuff about issues such as the Democratic Party being ‘controlled’ by Black Lives Matter and what he described as the president’s outstanding handling of the ‘Chinese Communist virus.'”

Then Rudy let loose with one humdinger of a massive lie that no one dies of coronavirus in the United States these days:

“People don’t die of this disease anymore. Young people don’t die at all. Middle age people die very little, and even elderly people have only one percent chance of dying.”

That’s simply not true, as the numbers easily prove.

So far, over 215,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 and hundreds more are dying each and every day. On Saturday, former CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden estimated that an additional 20,000 deaths by the end of October was “inevitable.”

Giuliani’s fact-free remarks drew heavy fire on social media:

Rudy, just like Donald Trump, is willfully ignorant. And that’s the most dangerous form of cluelessness that exists in the world today.
