President Donald Trump has already falsely and irresponsibly declared himself the winner of the 2020 Election despite there being millions of votes left to count in several swing states, and he woke up on Wednesday morning to whine after learning that he no longer holds the leads he did late last night.

Democratic voters overwhelmingly cast their ballots by mail because of the pandemic, and Trump demonstrated his desperation by daring to claim victory prematurely before all the votes were counted when he had leads in states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

In Pennsylvania, while still behind Trump by around 600,000 votes, there are still at least 1.4 million absentee ballots that have yet to be counted that will likely favor Biden.

But as more votes were counted into Wednesday morning, Trump woke up to find that he now losing to Biden in Michigan and Wisconsin, which means Biden can win without Pennsylvania if he also wins Nevada, Maine, and Arizona, where he has built decent leads.

And, of course, Trump whined about it on Twitter and once again attacked absentee ballots in a scheme to discredit current vote tallies.

These ballots were not just “dumped” in by surprise. They were legally cast by Americans who had them postmarked on or before Election Day and we’ve known about them for days and weeks. Even Trump knew that there is a massive number of absentee ballots, which is why he has spent so much time trying to demonize them by crying fraud and demanding the Supreme Court stop the counting.

He knows these votes spell trouble for him. His pouting is reckless and irresponsible and only undermines our democratic process. It’s shameful, and the silence from Republicans speaks volumes about how they feel about fair and free elections and making sure every vote from every American is counted.
