Outgoing President Donald Trump retaliated against his cybersecurity chief at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Tuesday by firing him via Twitter for contradicting his efforts to delegitimize the 2020 Election results.
Since Election Night, Trump has been spewing baseless allegations of election fraud ranging from alleged issues with voting machines, the mail-in vote, and observers at the polls.
None of Trump’s claims are supported by evidence, which is why his lawsuits have been failing one by one in the courts.
Even Trump’s own DHS cybersecurity chief Chris Krebs has debunked his claims.
“The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history. Right now, across the country, election officials are reviewing and double checking the entire election process prior to finalizing the result,” Krebs and the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees said in a statement last week. “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.”
Predictably, Trump fired Krebs via Twitter for contradicting his false claims.
The recent statement by Chris Krebs on the security of the 2020 Election was highly inaccurate, in that there were massive improprieties and fraud – including dead people voting, Poll Watchers not allowed into polling locations, “glitches” in the voting machines which changed…

…votes from Trump to Biden, late voting, and many more. Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

Here again we see Trump abusing his power by wrongfully firing a federal official just for not supporting his lies. Now Trump will likely install a loyalist in the position who will parrot whatever ridiculous claims he utters about the election results, making it clearer than ever that Trump is attacking democracy and is trying to steal this election to stay in power.
