Outgoing President Donald Trump claimed that he attended a virtual G20 meeting on the coronavirus pandemic on Saturday, but he actually skipped it to play golf as the death toll in the United States climbed past 260,000.

In yet another series of inflammatory rage tweets, Trump attacked President-Elect Joe Biden over the H1N1 flu epidemic that occurred over a decade ago before turning his tantrum against the media for reporting on the spread of the virus across the country while insisting that the death toll is slowing so it’s no big deal.

It turns out that Trump did not even attend the G20 meeting that he claims to have attended because he was actually out on the golf course not giving a damn about the lives of the American people.

According to the New York Times:

On Saturday, Mr. Trump briefly participated in a virtual Group of 20 summit from the Situation Room. But he was not listed as a participant at a sideline event at the conference on “Pandemic Preparedness and Response.” Speakers at the event included Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, and Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany.

Instead, Mr. Trump continued the postelection weekend routine he has settled into. He sends out a tweet with a new, empty promise of “fraud” revelations and then heads to his Virginia golf course. It was the third weekend in a row that he has done so.

It should also be pointed out that 260,000+ Americans have died on Trump’s watch from the coronavirus since February while just 12,500 Americans died after contracting the H1N1 virus. The H1N1 virus hit the United States in April 2009, and contrary to Trump’s claims, a vaccine against it was ready and shipped in October and November that same year, quicker than the coronavirus vaccine being developed now that is still weeks away from being available to the public.

Furthermore, the United States still has the highest coronavirus death toll in the world and while the virus is spiking again in other countries, it’s still far worse here as Republicans ignore the crisis unfolding in their own states. At this point, a vaccine may not even help because Trump’s incompetent and reckless response to the pandemic has allowed it to spread so much that it’s really too late for a vaccine.

Make no mistake, this pandemic is Trump’s ultimate failure as president and he should be prosecuted for negligent homicide or mass murder. At a time when he should be working harder than ever to keep Americans from dying and working with the world to slow the spread of this virus, Trump was teeing off on his own golf course at taxpayer expense.
