Fox host Jeanine Pirro attacked Attorney General William Barr as a “reptile” who is part of the Washington D.C. “swamp” for his unwillingness to support President Donald Trump’s assault on the 2020 election, suggesting that Barr has been compromised as a result of his years in the GOP political establishment.

During her opening statement Saturday evening, Pirro referenced remarks Barr made earlier in the week during an interview with the Associated Press:

“Disputing President Donald Trump’s persistent, baseless claims, Attorney General William Barr declared Tuesday the U.S. Justice Department has uncovered no evidence of widespread voter fraud that could change the outcome of the 2020 election. Barr’s comments, in an interview with the The Associated Press, contradict the concerted effort by Trump, his boss, to subvert the results of last month’s voting and block President-elect Joe Biden from taking his place in the White House.”

That led the Fox host to angrily declare:

“Unfortunately, the Attorney General Bill Barr has proven himself to be anything other than extraordinary. This week, Barr commented that he has not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election.”

“Really? It’s curious, Barr, the head of the DOJ would affirmatively make a statement regarding a pending investigation. As a former prosecutor, for over three decades, I and virtually everyone similarly situated know that DOJ guidelines do not allow comment on investigations.”

What Pirro neglected to mention, however, is that the DOJ may have completed their investigation and therefore Barr wasn’t speaking out of turn.

But Pirro was far from finished excoriating the attorney general, shouting as she added:

“We need answers. We need action. We need justice. And you, Mr. Barr, are so deep in the swamp you can’t see beyond your fellow reptiles, and you are not the exceptional leader needed at this exceptional time in history,”

Keep in mind that just a couple of months ago, this very same Jeanine Pirro was singing Barr’s praises and showering him with accolades, telling her viewers:

“Bill Barr — this guy is like a slow locomotive. There ain’t nothing going to stop him, he is going get to where he is going, you can be sure he will get there when he is supposed to.”

It’s OK, Jeanine. Pretty soon both Donald Trump and William Barr are going to be little more than footnotes in history and perhaps even prison inmates. Then you’ll really have something to be angry about.
