As over 3,000 Americans die each day from COVID-19 and the U.S. economy remains stuck in a recession caused in large part by the novel coronavirus, Congressional Republicans continue to argue, dither, and hold up passage of a second stimulus package that would provide much-needed financial relief to businesses and individuals.

Yet amidst this ongoing national tragedy, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said Friday that we need to all stop calling for another stimulus bill and just go out and get a job.

Here’s Jordan’s utterly tone-deaf tweet that he sent out Friday morning:

What in the hell?! How are people supposed to get a job when there are almost no jobs to be had? Is Jordan even aware of the economic crisis caused in large part by President Donald Trump’s monumental (and potentially criminal) handling of the pandemic? Or has the congressman been too busy helping spread vapid conspiracy theories about how the 2020 election was “stolen,” even though there’s been zero proof of such an allegation>

Twitter users quickly pushed back on Jordan:

Just when you think Republicans cannot possibly get more deplorable and disgusting, Jim Jordan sticks his head out of the rathole he inhabits and reminds us what heartlessness and cruelty looks like.
