During a hearing of the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) destroyed Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), accusing him of gaslighting and trying to blame others for problems at the Post Office created solely by former President Donald Trump.

According to The Hill, the confrontation between Connolly and Jordan came during the questioning of Trump-appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who has slowed mail service and is planning to make further deep cuts to the Postal Service:

“In one part of the hearing, Connolly addressed remarks made by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who argued that previous scrutiny over DeJoy’s performance was a politically motivated ‘charade,’ leading up to the election.

“Jordan specifically pointed out that DeJoy around the time of his August committee hearing ‘had protesters banging on pots and pans outside” his house, with many calling for him to resign.

“’You were the worst guy on the planet last time you were here. I just want to know what’s changed,’ Jordan asked.”

DeJoy smirked and replied, “Well, we had an election.”

That’s when Connolly called Jordan out for spreading lies and disinformation, looking directly at the Ohio Republican as he chastised him:

“The point is, it was Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, who was planting the idea, aided and abetted by disruptive changes proposed by a new postmaster general and a compliant board of governors that actually eroded public confidence in the ability to vote by mail. That wasn’t a Democratic narrative, that was a Republican narrative by the president of the United States and his enablers.”

But Connolly was far from finished, aiming his next remarks at Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), who claimed DeJoy had been attacked with “unfounded” allegations about trying to slow down mail-in ballots prior to the November election. Connolly told Hice:

“I didn’t vote to overturn an election, and I will not be lectured by people who did about partisanship.”

Republicans have absolutely no credibility when it comes to anything connected to the 2020 president election. They desperately tried to suppress voter turnout and then attempted to overturn the will of the voters with lawsuits and other attacks on President Joe Biden’s legitimacy.
