QAnon Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) incited violence against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a new ad this week demanding the removal of fencing around the Capitol that has been in place since supporters of disgraced former President Donald Trump engaged in an attempted coup on January 6th.

During the insurrection, Trump supporters stormed the Capitol and went looking for lawmakers to assassinate. One of those lawmakers was Pelosi, whom insurrectionists admitted on video to be hunting down so they could murder her.

As Pelosi was being escorted from the House floor to a safe location, Boebert live-tweeted the Speaker’s location, thereby giving the insurrectionists information they could use to carry out an assassination.

The threat to our government and lawmakers was and still is so severe that fencing was placed around the Capitol grounds and the National Guard has been present ever since, especially since right-wing groups are still planning future coup attempts.

And Boebert wants to make those coup attempts much easier.

In a video, Boebert walks away from the Capitol building as she praises Trump’s useless border wall and then claims Democratic lawmakers care more about protecting themselves than the American people.

Of course, that’s not true at all. Walls don’t work, which Boebert ironically proved by invoking Ronald Reagan’s call for Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to “tear down this wall” in her demand that Pelosi have the fence removed. At the end of the video, a gunshot is heard, as is the cocking of a gun for another shot.

Here’s the video via Twitter:

It certainly sounds like Boebert is threatening Pelosi with gun violence if she doesn’t bow down to her demand for the fencing to be removed.

Again, it was just two months ago that Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an insurrection attempt aimed at killing lawmakers and overthrowing democracy. Those same Trump supporters have been planning new domestic terrorist acts against the Capitol ever since, which is why protective measures are still in place. Incitement of more violence like Boebert just did in her video doesn’t help matters, and only confirms that these protective measures are absolutely necessary.

The FBI should investigate Boebert’s ties to the insurrectionists, and may be already doing so. Now they should investigate Boebert’s apparent threat against Pelosi, and Congress should open a probe as well and move to punish her for putting the safety of lawmakers in jeopardy.
