Fasten your safety belt, because Rudy Giuliani is in full crazy mode, and he’s trying to suggest the only reason his home and office were raided by the FBI earlier this week has something (good luck figuring out what) to do with President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.
Appearing on Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show Thursday evening, a clearly rattled Giuliani used the name “Hunter” so often that he frequently called Carlson Hunter instead of Tucker, according to HuffPost:
“Well, about six o’clock in the morning, there was a big bang! bang! bang! on the door and outside were seven FBI agents with a warrant for electronics. And I looked at the warrant and I said, ‘This is extraordinary because I offered to give these to the government and talk it over with them for two years.’”
Two years ago, it should be noted, William Barr was in charge of the Justice Department, so if Barr failed to give Rudy a phone call or accept his assistance, how exactly would that have anything to do with Hunter Biden?
The former New York City mayor praised the FBI agents who served the search warrants on his apartment and office as “professional,” “gentlemanly,” and “somewhat apologetic,” but then steered the conversation back to Hunter Biden once more, asserting that the agents “got perturbed” when he urged them to take computer hard drives that claimed had once belonged to the president’s son:
“I said, ‘Are you sure you don’t want them?’ I mean the warrant required them to take it. And they said ‘No!’”
As if that’s not enough crazy for one person, Rudy then wondered aloud why the FBI agents took his word that the hard drives had once belonged to Hunter Biden:
“They also were completely content to rely on my word that these were Hunter Biden’s hard drives. I mean, they could have been Donald Trump’s. They could have been Vladimir Putin’s. They could have been anybody’s. But they relied on me, the man who had to be raided in the morning.”
Actually, it’s a lot more believable that the agents know Giuliani lies so much that anything he says is complete bullshit, so they humored him in order to get him to shut up and stay out of their way.
Near the end of the interview, Giuliani insisted that the search warrant had been illegal:
“The only way you can get a search warrant is if you can show that there is some evidence that the person is going to destroy the evidence.
“Well, I’ve had it for two years, and I haven’t destroyed it. And they also got it from the iCloud! So there is no justification for that warrant.”
They got it from the iCloud?! What in the hell does that even mean? The warrant was signed off on by a federal judge. If Rudy has a problem with that, he needs to take it up with the court.
As we’ve repeatedly seen with Donald Trump and everyone who surrounds him, nothing is ever their fault. It’s always someone else’s fault, be it Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Gates, or Satan. Their desperation and failure to admit their own misdeeds is not only maddening, it’s downright criminal.
Here’s the Carlson-Giuliani interview:
