Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) took his war against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to the CNN airwaves over the weekend after she accused him of lying about a confrontation with one of her staffers.

Greene has drawn condemnation recently for trying to bully Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who has compared Greene’s behavior to that of the unruly drunks she used to throw out of bars as a bartender many years ago.

Not long after that incident of bullying, one of Greene’s staffers attempted to bully Swalwell for wearing a mask. Only instead of walking away as AOC did, Swalwell confronted his bully and put him in his place, only for Greene to whine about it.

Greene claims that her staffer was being polite even though witnesses say the staffer disrespectfully yelled at Swalwell. In addition, masks are still required on the House floor, which means even Greene has to wear one.

During an appearance on CNN, Swalwell slammed Greene and her “marauding goons” and explained why he decided to fight back against the bullying.

“I was leaving the House floor,” Swalwell began. “You’re still required to wear a mask on the House floor. And frankly, Jim, I just forgot to take my mask off when I came out of the building. I love having my mask off now. And Greene’s aide said, ‘Take your mask off, Congressman.’ And I kept walking past. And I thought you know what, I’m tired of this sh*t, these marauding goons who are going around trying to bully my other colleagues. So I went up to him and asked him who he was, and I said “Don’t tell me what to do” with words you can’t say on CNN. And predictably he went speechless.”

“This is not the way it works around here,” Swalwell continued. “I’ve worn a staff badge and I’ve worn a member pin. And when I was a staffer, I would never talk to a member of Congress like that. My staffers tell me all the time they would love to speak with Marjorie Taylor Greene and tell her what they think of her policies, but there’s still decorum and respect, and I think people are just losing patience with Greene.”

The CDC has given the green light to vaccinated Americans to take their masks off, but many are still wearing a mask anyway to protect themselves and others from potentially contracting or spreading the coronavirus, especially to those who have not been vaccinated yet. If Swalwell or any other Democrat wants to wear a mask, they should be able to do so without being harassed. And since Greene and her ilk are anti-vaccine, it’s understandable why anyone would want to keep wearing a mask around them.
