If you were operating under the assumption that Fox News couldn’t possibly get more fact-free and chock full of absolute BS, host Jeanine Pirro proved Saturday evening that the network has yet another level of lunacy that can be dialed up at will.

As part of what she calls her “Opening Statement,” Pirro launched an assault on Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, whom she accused of allowing COVID-19 to form and spread into a full-scale pandemic. Her evidence? A video of Fauci from 2017 in which he predicted the United States would face the threat of a killer disease within the next four years.

Specifically, Fauci remarked:

“There is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases. The thing we’re extraordinarily confident about is that we’re going to see this in the next few years.”

That led Pirro to angrily declare:

“Why didn’t he develop a response to this virus four years ago?! That comment alone should convince you that with his unique ability to predict a future pandemic and to predict it specifically during President Trump’s term, should frighten anyone, unless – of course, you own the same crystal ball he did.”

What in the hell is she talking about?! Dr. Fauci was supposed to come up with a vaccine for a disease that hadn’t even been thought of? Is he supposed to give her the winning Powerball numbers every week, too? Or does Jeanine prefer her payments in boxed wine?

Pirro got her comeuppance on Twitter:
