Proving his own endless capacity for hypocrisy and his masochistic need to publicly humiliate himself, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) decided to go on Twitter and accuse White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki of “brazen gaslighting” after never once saying the same of the Trump administration during the four years of endless lying that emanated from the White House during the Donald’s term in office.
At Monday’s press briefing, Psaki calmly explained to Fox News corresponded Peter Doocy that while Republicans love to say that Democrats want to “defund the police,” not a single member of the GOP in the House or Senate voted for the $350 billion allocated to police included in the American Rescue Plan.
That was just too much for Cruz to take, even though what Psaki said was factual and easily verified by simply consulting the Congressional Record. Cruz weighed in with this:
Brazen gaslighting. https://t.co/punJWd9gRT

That was all it took for others on Twitter to lay an online beatdown on the Texas senator:
Gaslighting is pretending you just had to go to Cancun when there was a major state of emergency, then pretending you were always coming right back.

Gaslighting? That’s rich, coming from a man who watched Texans FREEZE TO DEATH, while he escaped to sunny Cancun, then blamed the vacation on his daughters.

Translation: “We’re doing this, so of COURSE we’re going to say the other side is doing it and not us!”
I mean, you DID go “Oooh! Look at the money we got you!” after 100% of you voted against any stimulus money.

The chickens are being called out – @GOP has not supported @CapitolPolice or local enforcement at the local and state levels b/c they wanted to play politics….karma is a bit€h….@ProjectLincoln @JoeBiden @KamalaHarris @HouseDemocrats @SenateDems @TheDemocrats @WhiteHouse @CNN

CORRECTION: RepubliQans voted against providing funds to cities that would have permitted maintaining/hiring police. RepubliQans also object to an investigation of the Capitol terrorist attack that injured more that 100 police officers.
