Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) attempted to prove their masculinity on stage with a push-up contest on Tuesday night, only to be mocked for being pathetic.

Republican men constantly feel the need to demonstrate their manhood as if they are compensating for something. And it was no different in Iowa on Tuesday when Grassley and Cotton did 22 push-ups during an event in front of voters in an effort to somehow prove that they are fit for office.

Rather than let the focus of the event be on supporting veterans, the focus ended up being entirely on Cotton and Grassley as Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), who is equally terrible at her job, counted them off.

Of course, Cotton has frequently touted his military service to the point of even lying about it, but even he couldn’t do a proper push-up.

Twitter users lit up both Republicans.

Push-ups do not make anyone physically qualified to serve in public office. If that were the case, Donald Trump would have failed in his bid for the White House. Like Trump, Grassley and Cotton have failed the American people time and time again, which actually does prove they are not fit to serve in office.
