According to former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, the Donald has taken control of the southern border by going there on Wednesday for a photo-op with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and making a few comments.

Proving that delusion is indeed thick inside the Trump family, Lara appeared on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning so she could sing the failed ex-president’s praises, claiming:

“I think it was fantastic to see somebody go down and actually take charge of the situation. President Trump, being the former president, sure got a lot more accomplished in his visit to the southern border than the acting border czar Kamala Harris did with her photo-op trip to a place that was 800 miles away from where the real problem happens to be down on the southern border.”

Really? Did he make any policy or offer any federal money? No, because an ex-president has zero power when it comes to such matters. The only reason Donald showed up in the Lone Star State was to try and remain relevant and distract from the news in Manhattan that his company was being indicted.

Lara also falsely asserted that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had promised an “open border” during the 2020 campaign, adding:

“Thank goodness the former president is down there at the southern border, taking control of the situation. Thank goodness somebody is paying attention: former President Trump.”

What has the former president and his surrogates most upset is that President Biden has returned millions of dollars in funding for the U.S. military that Trump had diverted to help build his wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. In other words, the long-promised wall on the southern border is now nothing more than an empty promise the ex-president made to his gullible supporters. And Mexico didn’t pay for the small sections of wall that were constructed during Trump’s term in office.

While Trumpers love to talk about the wall and other lies their orange savior told them, be sure and notice they never mention the 500,000 Americans who died of COVID-19 due to the Donald’s lies and fecklessness.
