Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) decided she’d try and take a shot at pop star Taylor Swift during and interview she gave to Breitbart News, but only succeeded in proving how little she knows about government and terms such as “socialism” and “Marxism.”

Referencing the fact that Swift opposed her when she ran for the Senate in 2018, Blackburn remarked:

“When you talk about country music, and I know the left is all out now and trying to change country music and make it woke. When I’m talking to my friends who are musicians and entertainers, I say, ‘If we have a socialistic government—if we have Marxism—you are going to be the first ones who will be cut off because the state would have to approve your music.

“Taylor Swift came after me in my 2018 campaign. But Taylor Swift would be the first victim of that because when you look at Marxist socialistic societies, they do not allow women to dress or sing or be on stage or to entertain or the type music she would have. They don’t allow protection of private intellectual property rights.”

Socialism and Marxist societies don’t allow women to sing? That’s a gigantic lie. Even the darkest days of the Soviet Union, opera diva Galina Vishnevskaya was celebrated and beloved, even by the government.

Apparently, Mediaite notes. Sen. Blackburn still hasn’t gotten over what Swift had to say when she endorsed Blackburn’s opponent and explained why on Instagram, writing:

“As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values.”

And as a U.S. Senator, Blackburn has continued her abysmal performance, steadfastly defending former President Donald Trump no matter what he says or does and excusing the actions of rioters who stormed the Capitol on January 6 and killed a police officer.

Marsha Blackburn is up for reelection in the 2022 midterms. Though it won’t be easy to defeat her, we can always hope that she’s from the Senate by voters in the Volunteer State.
