Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) gave former Fox News host Megyn Kelly a badly-needed history lesson after she tried to minimize the seriousness of the Capitol riots which took place on January 6 and left five people dead, including a Capitol police officer.
HuffPost reports that Lieu and Kelly have been engaged in a heated debate on Twitter regarding the Capitol insurrection:
“Kelly, who recently signed a deal with SiriusXM to host a daily talk show, faced sharp criticism earlier this week for insisting the deadly riot ‘wasn’t an insurrection’ and that it was the media that had made it out to be ‘so much worse than it actually was.'”
“There is no question the media represented it as so much worse than it actually was,” Megyn Kelly said about the Capitol riot.

Lieu also tagged Kelly in a tweet he sent to Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) who has also engaged in revisionist history by calling the Jan. 6 riots a “normal tourist visit.”
Dear @Rep_Clyde: Can you take 34 seconds of your time to watch insurrectionists brutally assault police, and the cheering by the mob on Jan 6? This was not, as you say, a “normal tourist visit.”
Will you apologize to police for your disparaging comments?

Rather than respond with facts, Kelly took the low road, resorting to insults rather than providing facts:
Hey @tedlieu – I realize you get more attention by using my name since most ppl have no clue who you are, but try to get this: saying it was awful but the media overplayed it is not that controversial. Grow up. https://t.co/cnDluvqqcS

Lieu, however, remained classy, and he thanked Kelly, which made her look even more immature and foolish:
Thank you @megynkelly for following me on Twitter. https://t.co/AoIc100UyE

Megyn Kelly is trying to pretend she’s still relevant. But since she can’t manage to keep a gig, it’s clear that Congressman Lieu has more job security than she does. He’s also a hell of a lot better person.
