A Republican lawmaker in the state of Florida is proposing to rename a highway that runs the length of the Sunshine State in honor of former President Donald Trump.
HuffPost reports that Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) suggested legislation that would change the name of U.S. Route 27 to President Donald J. Trump Highway so that the state can “honor one of America’s greatest Presidents.”

Florida is currently experiencing more cases of COVID-19 (and hospitalizations) than any other state in the country, but sure, let’s name a highway after a president who lost reelection, was impeached twice, and allowed the pandemic to reach crisis proportions before he was replaced by the American people.
It didn’t take long before Twitter lit up with condemnation for both Sabatini and Trump:
