President Joe Biden is continuing to clean house by firing Trump appointees who were serving on influential military academy boards. And that has Sean Spicer fuming because he’s one of them.
Spicer was appointed by Trump to serve on the Naval Academy advisory board, just one of many appointed by Trump to military advisory boards, including Kellyanne Conway on the Air Force academy board and retired General H.R. McMaster on the West Point board.
Well, all of them were asked to resign this week. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki explained the decision during a press briefing.
“The President’s objective is what any president’s objective is — to ensure you have nominees and people serving on these boards who are qualified to serve on them and who are aligned with your values. And so yes, that was an ask that was made,” she said. “I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified, or not political, to serve on these boards, but the President’s qualification requirements are not your party registration, they are whether you’re qualified to serve and whether you’re aligned with the values of this administration.”
Spicer and several other appointees responded by throwing a temper tantrum.
“Tonight, all Trump appointees — including myself — have been kicked off the boards of the United States Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and West Point in an unprecedented move by the Biden administration,”I’m announcing tonight for the first time that I will not be submitting my resignation,” Spicer complained. “And I will be joining a lawsuit to fight this.”
He also lashed out at Psaki for questioning his qualifications to serve on a military advisory board.
“Don’t you dare ever minimize or question my service to this nation! You got it?” he said

Again, these military academy advisory boards are influential. While these appointees may not have drawn attention in the past, every single one of the appointees being removed by Biden was appointed by Trump, who incited an insurrection to overthrow democracy so he could remain in power by force and sought to use the military to execute a coup. All of these individuals also worked to undermine our democratic institutions.
That makes his appointees particularly dangerous because they can spread propaganda to the next generation of troops and groom them to violate their oath to the Constitution if and when another Republican president seeks to become a dictator. Spicer would know all about spreading propaganda since he lied to the American people every day as his former press secretary.
By just working in the Trump administration, all of these appointees are tainted for life and should not be allowed anywhere near the institutions that serve to protect our country from all threats both foreign and domestic. In short, they should blame Trump and his treason for their removal, not Biden.
