Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa.) once again humiliated herself by insanely claiming that President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate is somehow a plan to distract Americans from remembering 9/11. Seriously.

Republicans have been having a meltdown ever since Biden announced the mandate. They have also been blaming Biden for the Afghanistan withdrawal and Taliban takeover even though the fault for that is squarely on Donald Trump.

During an interview on Fox News, Ernst combined both attacks by insisting Biden’s vaccine announcement was purposely timed as a scheme to make Americans forget about the withdrawal and 9/11.

“They are leading by coercion,” Ernst said. “And I would agree with the point that is being made by so many of my colleagues that this is a diversion, away from 9/11. And away from the 20th anniversary, and away from the debacle that was his Afghanistan withdrawal.”

Here’s the video via Twitter:

The vaccine mandate is nothing new and it’s certainly warranted since the Delta variant of the coronavirus has spiraled out of control because of anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers. As for 9/11, our country just marked the 20th anniversary of the attacks over the weekend. Biden delivered remarks and visited all three sites where Americans were killed. There was widespread media coverage. And again, the fall of Afghanistan was not Biden’s fault.

In short, Ernst’s claim is ridiculous, which is why Americans took her to the woodshed on Twitter.
