In a homophobic rant directed at Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) attacked parental leave even though a majority of Americans support the policy.
Buttigieg has been viciously attacked by Republicans for taking paternity leave to spend time with his newly adopted children and his husband. The Biden Administration supports paternity leave for executive branch employees and had no problem with Buttigieg being absent. However, he was available to handle big issues and there is a deputy Transportation Secretary to fill in.
Boebert, of course, had to launch her own insults at Buttigieg.
“Mayor Pete was on a two-month maternity — paternity, whatever the heck you want to call it — leave. The guy was gone,” Boebert ranted. “The guy was not working, because why? He was trying to figure out how to chest feed. I delivered one of my children in the front seat of my truck. Because, as a mom of four, we got things to do. Ain’t nobody got time for two and a half months of maternity leave. We have a world to save, here.”
Here’s the video via Twitter:

Boebert’s story is bigoted, but it’s also quite demonstrative of the need for paid parental leave and universal healthcare.
Needless to say, Twitter users took her to the woodshed.
After Lauren Boebert’s homophobic remarks today, retweet if you think she she should be expelled immediately.

Pro tip: never buy a used truck from Lauren Boebert.

Lauren Boebert acts like having one of her children in her pickup truck was a sign of strength. The reality is they wouldn’t let her husband within 1000 yards of a maternity ward.

Remember that time you pumped out a kid in a pickup truck? 🤣 And then your husband showed his wiener to all the kids? That was awesome. pic.twitter.com/k2tpNcy1WR

Rep. Boebert you shared that you delivered a baby in the front seat of a truck – what does that have to do with parental leave – delivering the baby isn’t bonding with the baby, it isn’t providing the nurturing care needed by a newborn in the first weeks. We have families to help

Lauren Boebert is a peice of trash times fucking infinity.
You are just jealous Pete’s children are going to have loving parents. Something you are incapable of.

Pete Buttigieg and Lauren Boebert should have a pay-per-view debate and not only would it be a laugh riot watching him eviscerate her, but we could use the proceeds to fix everything that’s broken with America.

In mocking Pete Buttigieg’s paternity leave — and the whole notion of parental leave actually — Lauren Boebert bragged that she gave birth to one of her kids in the front of her truck…
No Lauren, that wasn’t the giving birth part, it was the conception part.

High School drop out GED: Boebert …. Pete Buttigieg: A graduate of Harvard University and a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, Buttigieg served for seven years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve

The party of family values doesn’t value parents bonding with their newborn children.
As long as Buttigieg is doing the opposite of Boebert, he’s already a better parent.
