Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) attacked Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) during a Fox News appearance this week, only to get completely humiliated in response.
Cheney currently serves on the House 1/6 Committee investigating the Capitol insurrection. Hundreds of Trump supporters violently stormed the building on January 6th, after being incited by Trump, and attempted to overthrow democracy.
Cruz took a shot at Cheney last week by mocking the possibility that she could throw her hat into the ring for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, telling her she would have a better chance in the Democratic Party. Cheney would fire back by slamming Cruz for pandering for the secessionist vote.
Well, Cruz didn’t get humiliated enough apparently, because he attacked Cheney again on Fox News by claiming Trump “broke” her.
“I look at the situation of Liz Cheney and I just think it’s sad,” Cruz said. “I’ve always liked her, I haven’t agreed with her on everything, I think she’s a bit too eager to send in the Marines and to invade countries all over the planet, but I’ve always liked her and I think she falls into the category of people who Donald Trump just broke, just shattered.”
Except the one who has actually been broken by Trump is Cruz himself, as Cheney pointed out according to CNN’s Melanie Zanona.
.@Liz_Cheney is hitting back at @tedcruz after he went on Fox News last night & accused her of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” saying she was “broke” by Trump.
“Trump broke Ted Cruz,” Cheney told me. “A real man would be defending his wife, and his father, and the Constitution.”

This is just the latest escalation in the Cheney-Cruz feud.
It started last week when Cruz quipped the only lane for Cheney in 2024 is in the Dem Party. Cheney shot back: “I know you’re posturing for the secessionist vote.. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it.”

She isn’t wrong. Cruz embarrassingly refused to defend his own wife after Trump viciously insulted her during the 2016 campaign. Adding further insult to injury, Cruz then bowed down and kissed Trump’s ring repeatedly over the next four years. His wife’s honor remains undefended to this day.
At least Cheney has had the balls to stand up to Trump. Cruz gave his to Trump a long time ago.
