Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) tried to mock what she referred to as “liberal logic” with a tweet on Thursday, but her trolling effort wound up backfiring badly and making her look utterly clueless.
Blackburn’s tweet was a direct attack on Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), who is now requiring masks and vaccine cards in the District of Columbia.
However, Blackburn attempted to twist the new requirement and suggest that Democrats want to make residents show an I.D. card to buy milk but not to vote.
Liberal logic: you need a photo ID to buy milk but not to vote. https://t.co/eVRMwss1Wt

Just one tiny problem, as CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale pointed out: Grocery stores and other retail establishments are exempt from the new mask and vaccine card mandate.
False. Grocery stores and other retail establishments are exempt from DC’s new proof-of-vaccination requirement — as explicitly laid out on the website linked in the tweet Blackburn amplified. pic.twitter.com/6mZsrQBWzU

Others then joined the fun, mocking the Tennessee Republican for her lack of reading skills and laughing at her spectacular self-own:
Tell me you haven’t shopped for groceries in over a decade without telling me.

I have never shown my ID to buy milk. Also, comb your hair, you’re not in a Whitesnake video.

Obviously her “milk” purchases have been at liquor stores.

if you’re getting carded for milk, it’s actually alcohol. and if you’re drinking it every morning… well that explains a lot frankly

Conservative “logic”: Only people with IDs should be able to vote, but everyone should be able to get a gun without one
