Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) just can’t stop embarrassing himself. He tried to troll Yale University students during a podcast but made himself look like a pervert instead.
One must ask why Yale would even want Cruz to speak at their school in the first place? After all, Cruz not only incited the Capitol insurrection and voted to overturn the 2020 election results, he went on to abandon his constituents during a deadly winter storm by flying to Cancun the very next month. He also recently disrespected Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson during a Senate hearing.
Yet, Cruz will be speaking there anyway, and he spoke about it during a right-wing podcast. And his answer to a particular question was the main highlight.
“Senator, I hope that you’re going to wear Princeton and Harvard gear on stage at Yale, right?” Liz Wheeler asked. Cruz attended Princeton and somehow graduated from Harvard Law School. Just remember that the next time he complains about the so-called intellectual “elites.”
In response, Cruz not only insulted Yale but also made himself look like a pervert.
“You know, I’m assuming Yale requires that we be in like a smoking jacket with maybe a like Sherlock Holmes pipe and some Madeira,” Cruz said. “Or, I don’t know, has it gone more hippie than that? Do we have to be like, like, like nude and taking peyote or something?”
Here’s the video via Twitter:

Imagining yourself naked with college students isn’t exactly the kind of behavior one expects from a sitting United States senator, especially since Cruz is a 51-year-old man.
It’s also poor timing since Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) recently revealed that some unnamed GOP lawmakers invited him to snort cocaine and participate in orgies.
No one wants to see Ted Cruz naked. No one wants to imagine it either. Yale doesn’t need Cruz to speak at their school. He clearly does not respect the students or the administration, and he’s disgusting. Yale can do better.
