Evangelist Franklin Graham is calling for “regime change” in the United States because President Joe Biden has made it clear that he fully supports and will use the federal government to protect LGBTQ Americans, which just so happens to be their right as laid out in the Constitution.

Graham’s disgusting and bigoted attacks began Thursday on Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), when he assailed the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services’ issuance of “Gender-Affirming Care and Young People,” as “wicked” and a “lie from hell,” posting his hate speech on Facebook:

“All of their manipulated research saying that it improves mental health or increases happiness is just a lie from hell. What it really does is destroy the lives and futures of these children.

“Churches and followers of Jesus Christ must stand against this evil agenda. Politicians who support this shouldn’t be in leadership, and we need to work to get them out of office in the next election—whether they’re Republican or Democrat.”

He followed his fact-free rant with the call for regime change:

“Speaking of regime changes—we need one in this country.”

On Saturday, Graham lashed out at the Walt Disney Company for daring to oppose Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay law.”

“Disney is indoctrinating children with the LGBTQ agenda—and they don’t even try to hide it.

“I certainly hope parents wake up to what Disney is trying to do and protect their children and grandchildren from the lies this once-great company is now so willing to promote.”

Granted, Graham has every right to disagree with the Biden administration and Disney, but to do so in such inflammatory terms — regime change, wicked, lie from hell — will only stir up hatred and division in the United States, which would seem to be at cross purposes with what the Bible itself calls for. For example, here’s what Romans 13:1 instructs:

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

As right-wing “Christians” such as Franklin Graham love to preach, you either accept all of the Bible or you accept none of it. Is he willing to admit that he no longer obeys the instruction found in Romans 13:1? If not, then he’s nothing but a hypocrite, of whom the Bible tells us:

Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, “Let me take the speck out of your eye,” and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:1-5)

Are you listening, Franklin?
